SHERYL L. AINSWORTH
Sheryl brings a wealth of experience to her practice, which focuses
on land use and regulatory matters on behalf of property owners, businesses,
and other entities. As a former Planning Commissioner, City Council Member,
and Mayor for the City of Scotts Valley, Sheryl has 12 years of experience
in municipal government dealing with complex issues involving planning,
zoning, CEQA, redevelopment, annexation, and subdivisions. During Sheryl’s
political tenure, she concentrated her energies on land use and resource
issues and gained a thorough understanding of the intricacies of the
land use process. In addition to her service for the City of Scotts
Valley, Sheryl served as chair of the Santa Margarita Aquifer Advisory
Committee and as a member of the Santa Cruz County Local Agency Formation
Commission (LAFCO) and the Santa Cruz County Transportation Commission. Sheryl’s
extensive experience in local government gives her invaluable knowledge,
practical insights, political experience, and expertise which enable
her to assist the firm’s clients in developing effective strategies
for obtaining desired objectives and approvals and avoiding land use
conflicts.
